We live in Brooklyn with our 3-year-old cattle dog mix, Mishka. We met in 2008 in Chinese class while doing the same study abroad program in Nanjing, China. Family has always been very important to us, as we both come from big, close-knit families, with nine siblings between us who are excited to be aunts and uncles to a new baby! We have a lot of love to give but have not been able to have children naturally. We are adopting because we want to grow our family and share the rich traditions and loving environment of our home with a new generation. Most importantly, we want to provide a home for a child and offer anything and everything that will help the child grow into the special person that they are, based on their unique background, personality, and spirit.

Nuestras vidas
Our life is all about community. We live in a multi-family Brooklyn home that we share with our best friends, who live upstairs. We like to cook big meals, go hiking upstate, and host parties for our friends and family. We travel across the US to visit family and take an international trip each year. When we get tired of all this activity, we love having cozy evenings at home, watching movies and snuggling with our dog. We keep to a structured routine during the week, sharing breakfast each morning, exercising after work, tending to our home, and finding time for our hobbies and spiritual practices.
We are excited to welcome a child into this life while also incorporating whatever the child might want to do! Our greatest hope is to provide a stable and loving home for a child to safely explore their interests and the world.
Nuestra familia
We have large extended families with parents, grandparents, siblings, cousins, aunts/uncles, and nieces/nephews. Together we celebrate many family traditions, such as spending Christmas around a woodstove in the snowy countryside, watching classic holiday movies and eating homemade pasta and cookies. There is also a family party every New Year’s Eve with fondue, board games, and a toast at midnight.
We have a close-knit circle of friends in Brooklyn, most of whom have young children of their own. We love blending new and old traditions in the multi-family home we share with our best friends. One new tradition we hope to continue is a yearly Halloween party for adults and kids, complete with costumes, dancing, games, and candy.
Our family and friends are very supportive of our decision to become adoptive parents and are excited to welcome the child with love, support, and fun.
