Despu\u00e9s de dos d\u00edas de trabajo de parto activo, ped\u00ed ayuda y alguien me llev\u00f3 a una sala de emergencias. Cuando llegu\u00e9, le dije a una enfermera que ten\u00eda dolor de est\u00f3mago. Pens\u00e9 que decir que ten\u00eda dolor de est\u00f3mago era suficiente para compartir. Realmente no pod\u00eda formar las palabras: &quot;Estoy embarazada y en trabajo de parto&quot;. Dos horas despu\u00e9s di a luz a una ni\u00f1a sana de 4 kg. Le puse un nombre y no pens\u00e9 en lo que vendr\u00eda despu\u00e9s. Ten\u00eda 16 a\u00f1os y fue entonces cuando comenz\u00f3 mi conexi\u00f3n con Spence-Chapin.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hay partes del proceso de colocaci\u00f3n de mi hija que no recuerdo en absoluto, y otras partes las recuerdo como si hubieran sido ayer. Recuerdo v\u00edvidamente la sensaci\u00f3n general de desear tener m\u00e1s tiempo: m\u00e1s tiempo para procesar, m\u00e1s tiempo para hablar con alguien que pudiera entender lo que estaba sintiendo. Despu\u00e9s de la colocaci\u00f3n, hice lo \u00fanico que pens\u00e9 que era apropiado: volv\u00ed a mi vida, a la escuela secundaria, y no habl\u00e9 de ello con nadie. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cinco a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s de la adopci\u00f3n, di a luz a mi segundo hijo. Estaba mejor preparada y en un espacio en el que cre\u00eda que pod\u00eda ser una buena madre. Sin embargo, todav\u00eda no hab\u00eda afrontado la p\u00e9rdida que sent\u00ed al adoptar a mi hija cinco a\u00f1os antes, y convertirme en madre me hizo volver esos sentimientos de p\u00e9rdida y arrepentimiento en oleadas muy profundas. Estaba pasando apuros. Tom\u00e9 la decisi\u00f3n de ponerme en contacto con mi trabajadora social en Spence-Chapin. Ella era el \u00fanico recurso que se me ocurri\u00f3 en ese momento que podr\u00eda ayudarme a orientarme en mi lugar en la comunidad de madres biol\u00f3gicas. A trav\u00e9s de ella, me conect\u00e9 con la madre biol\u00f3gica de Spence-Chapin. <a href=\"https:\/\/spence-chapin.org\/therapy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">servicios de asesoramiento<\/a>Me llev\u00f3 muchos a\u00f1os de terapia en Spence-Chapin encontrar el camino hacia la aceptaci\u00f3n. Hab\u00eda tantas cosas que procesar y, en mi caso, de repente me estaba preparando para la posibilidad de un reencuentro con mi hija.<em> <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#008080\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Todo sucede tan r\u00e1pido y sin los recursos que me ofreci\u00f3 Spence-Chapin, nunca habr\u00eda desarrollado las herramientas para navegar todo lo que implica ser una madre biol\u00f3gica de espectro completo. &nbsp;<\/mark><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A medida que me fui acercando a Spence-Chapin, me enter\u00e9 de c\u00f3mo hab\u00edan evolucionado sus servicios desde hace muchos a\u00f1os, cuando estaba haciendo un plan de adopci\u00f3n, y cu\u00e1nto apoyo ofrecen a los padres biol\u00f3gicos tanto durante como despu\u00e9s de la adopci\u00f3n. Y, quiz\u00e1s igual de importante, c\u00f3mo quieren seguir haciendo crecer sus servicios escuchando a los padres biol\u00f3gicos que han adoptado a un ni\u00f1o y escuchando lo que necesitan, lo que les gustar\u00eda ver para otros padres biol\u00f3gicos y para ellos mismos.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pens\u00e9 que era importante devolver algo a esta organizaci\u00f3n que me hab\u00eda sido de tanta ayuda cuando no ten\u00eda los recursos para buscar terapia o apoyo. Hace dos a\u00f1os, me puse en contacto con Kate Trambitskaya, directora ejecutiva de Spence. Kate se preocupa genuinamente por esta comunidad. Tuvimos varias reuniones y hablamos de todas las formas en las que yo podr\u00eda contribuir como madre biol\u00f3gica. Me invitaron a unirme a la junta directiva. Me sent\u00ed honrada y acept\u00e9 unirme para poder entender mejor c\u00f3mo funciona esta organizaci\u00f3n desde adentro hacia afuera. Quiero que la voz de las madres biol\u00f3gicas est\u00e9 representada y estoy agradecida de ser parte de las conversaciones. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#008080\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><em>Las historias de adopci\u00f3n que escuchamos casi siempre provienen de la perspectiva de la persona adoptada y de los padres adoptivos. Queremos escuchar a m\u00e1s madres biol\u00f3gicas compartir sus historias. Deber\u00edamos informar a la gente de que existimos y mostrarles qui\u00e9nes somos.<\/em><\/mark><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#008080\" class=\"has-inline-color\"> <\/mark><\/strong>Para proteger el futuro de las adopciones saludables, necesitamos que nos vean y nos escuchen. Los estigmas que se han asociado durante mucho tiempo a las madres biol\u00f3gicas han quedado obsoletos. Podemos empoderar a una nueva generaci\u00f3n de madres biol\u00f3gicas compartiendo qui\u00e9nes somos hoy. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La vida no es lineal. Los giros y vueltas son infinitos. El crecimiento no es lineal. No hay un camino recto para encontrar tu camino. La sanaci\u00f3n no es lineal. Habr\u00e1 altibajos.
