We are Joe, Elle and Alex and we’re so glad that you found us! We met at a New Year’s Eve celebration on December 31st, 2013, and were instantly drawn to one another. A brief introduction soon turned into a few hours of conversation until, before we knew it, we were welcoming in the New Year together. A little less than four years after meeting, our energizer bunny Alex arrived. As we are both the eldest of 3 siblings, we are hoping to extend our family through adoption. We view adoption as a natural choice because we have seen what a blessing adoption has been in our own extended family. Receiving the joy of an addition to our family will provide us with the opportunity to not only provide a loving home for our future child but also to meet and form a relationship with birth parents. We are so excited to adopt and cannot wait to meet the child who will be part of our family. Our Lives
We live in Rahway, NJ, a few blocks from the local elementary school. Rahway has multiple walkable parks and sponsors many events for children and families. We own a 3-bedroom house with plenty of room to expand our family. We work during the day, often from home together. Before or after work, we will work out at the gym, or Dylan will do spin class. In the evenings we cook and eat together, play bridge or take a bridge lesson a couple of nights a week, or we watch movies. On the weekends we catch up with friends, often in New York City, where we have been regulars at the same Japanese restaurant for years. (We already checked if they have high chairs; they do.) We also spend lots of time with our elderly but still spunky cat Sapic.
Our Family
We were both raised in large extended middle-class families in the Northeast. Jesse’s younger brother lives in North Carolina and Dylan’s younger sister lives in Connecticut. Our parents, aunts, and uncles are only a few hours’ drive away and we try to see them as much as possible, especially on holidays. We usually do Thanksgiving with Jesse’s family in upstate New York and winter holidays with Dylan’s family in Rhode Island. Jesse’s family often goes on vacation together to the beach in North Carolina. Dylan has many friends from college who live nearby in New Jersey, including a couple down the street who recently had a baby of their own.
