Hi, we’re Jaclyn and Sean! We met each other as freshman at Manhattan College almost twenty years ago and started dating senior year. We’ve been married for eight years and moved into our forever home in 2017. We have wanted children for quite some time and now hope to fill our two empty bedrooms and playroom through adoption.
Our parents instilled in us strong work ethics which have allowed us to build established careers that offer flexibility and stability in our daily lives. That flexibility and stability has afforded us a balanced life full of excitement on the one hand, and relaxation on the other. For instance, we may be traveling to a new part of the country or the world either by ourselves or with our family and friends or simply relaxing in our backyard with our nieces and nephews slinging homemade pizzas into the pizza oven and roasting marshmallows over the firepit for s’mores.
We value family, friends, and experiences above all else. We believe it is important to work hard, but never at the expense of failing to enjoy life. It is important for us to see family and friends on a weekly basis, and for the children in our lives to have engaging and rewarding experiences such as learning a new board game or how to make pancakes from scratch.

About Ricky

About: Ricky is a 6-year-old terrier/hound mix that joined the family when he was 4 months old. He loves to snuggle, play with toys and go for walks. He loves other dogs and all the kids (“tiny humans”) that spend time at our house, often looking after them and sharing snacks.
Our Lives
Our routines are typical of a suburban couple, though post-pandemic both our jobs offer flexibility to work from home. After work, we like to take Ricky for a walk before cooking dinner. We make it a priority to have dinner together to discuss our day and plans for the coming weeks. During hockey/football season, we like to watch our favorite teams play. Every Thursday is pizza night with Jaclyn’s family, usually hosted at our house where everyone comes for dinner, to eat Aunt Ann’s homemade desserts, and to play games (dominoes, shuffleboard). Our weekends are filled by spending time with family and friends either at someone’s house or a community meeting spot. All the kids in our lives love coming to our house because they know they will get spoiled by Jaclyn, and that Sean will have an exciting game to play (or contraption to play with).
Our Family
Most of Jaclyn’s family lives in the same town and we spend a lot of time with them. Jaclyn’s sister and brother-in-law have two children (5 and 3) who live 4 blocks away, so we get to see them several times per week, including pizza night, weekends and family vacations.
Sean’s parents live locally, and his siblings are more spread out. We have 3 nephews on that side of the family (6, 4 and 18 months) and love spending time with them several times per year and talking to them via Facetime. In the Fall, we get together with Sean’s family to go Apple Picking at Fishkill Farms, which has been a tradition since Sean was a child. In the Summer, we get together at Sean’s parents to enjoy BBQ’s out back near the pool.
We have several sets of friends who live in our town who have young children who we spend time with several times per month. We are so excited to add a child of our own into this large group of family and friends and look forward to watching them be life-long friends, just like Jaclyn and her girlfriends Amanda and Tara!
Final Thoughts
We understand how difficult this process must be and admire your courage in doing what is best for your child. We are looking forward to providing a happy, loving and vibrant home to grow our family through adoption. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us, we are hopeful to meet you!
