In 2011, Alberto was visiting New York from Milan, Italy and met Brian. It was love at first sight, as we connected immediately over our shared interest in food and culture. Over the course of the following 3 years, we maintained our long-distance relationship through many trips to New York and Italy and through Skype, and we believe that any relationship that can survive that was made to last. In September 2014 we decided to get married in Central Park and since then we have discovered that we are each other’s best friend and enjoy doing everything together (except shopping – Alberto hates that). We love traveling and go to Italy at least once a year to see Alberto’s family and usually use this as an opportunity to explore other places as well. Although we love to travel, we always look forward to coming back home to our “fur-babies”. We also love to host dinner parties for our friends and try new recipes and cuisines (Alberto makes delicious homemade pasta and baked goods and Brian is a master when it comes to Southern cooking). Since the beginning of our marriage, we have talked about growing our family through adoption and we are so excited to share our lives and our love with our child.

Our Lives
When Alberto isn’t teaching kids Italian and Brian isn’t doing hair, we love to spend our weekends going to brunch at a new restaurant, checking out a new exhibit at the museum, or taking our dog to the park for a picnic. We try to do little getaways once a month, whether it be for the fall foliage in upstate New York, the flea markets in Connecticut, or a visit to Aunt Terri in Pennsylvania. During the holidays, we love to spend time with our families, either here in the States or in Italy. At night after a homecooked meal we like to relax and watch TV with our dog Barkley and our cat Fudge.
Our Family
We love our families very much and we try to see them as often as we can. Alberto’s family lives in Italy and we visit at least once a year, but try to go twice a year, if we can. His family also comes here to New York as well and we have weekly video chats with his mom. Brian’s family is spread out across the country with a brother in Alaska and another one in Michigan, but we get together for holidays and special occasions and stay connected through group messages. We also have a big group of friends that live in our building and the one next door that come over regularly for potlucks. Everyone is so excited that our family is growing and can’t wait to meet our child.
Final Thoughts
We know this is a difficult decision and we just want to thank you for considering us. We assure you that we will provide our child a home filled with stability, laughter, and love.
We look forward to getting to know you better and hope to welcome you into our family.
