Brad & Brandon

We’re Brad and Brandon! We have been together in a committed relationship since 2012 and got married on March 31, 2018. We have always talked about adopting a child from the beginning and are excited to take the next step in growing our family.

After experiencing great love and support from our families throughout our lives, we hope to give the same to our child. At the same time, we look forward to learning so much from them and growing together as a family. We are both very family-oriented and close to our own immediate families in Hawaii and California. Both of our families will be involved in our future child’s life, and we both hope to share our heritage and culture with them.

School and education are also very important to us. We also hope to encourage our future child’s interests through participation in extracurricular activities, such as sports or music as well, depending on their interests. We also enjoy traveling and hope to bring our child with us on trips as they get older. Our child will certainly spend a lot of time in California and Hawaii, but we also hope to broaden their travel experiences with international travel in the future. We want to show our child the many exciting joys the world has to offer.

Our Lives

On weekends, we typically go on long walks through our neighborhood, Hell’s Kitchen, and also other neighborhoods throughout New York City. For meals, either Brad cooks at home or we enjoy going out to eat and trying new restaurants, though of course, we’d have to try more kid-friendly ones with our child. We often take walks through Central Park and the nearby pier on the Hudson River for picnics when the weather is nice. During the week, Brandon is off to work during the day while Brad works from home 2- 3 days a week. After work, we spend the rest of the afternoon and evening together as a family. We look forward to going on short weekend trips as well because we love exploring the greater NY region. When our child joins our family, we plan to have outings to the beach and do lots of fun outdoor activities, especially because Brandon has the summers off! As the weather cools down, we’ll be exploring museums and other indoor activities. We’d also like to go on hikes and do family science projects with our child, including activities like gardening, making bubbles, and robotics.

Our Family

We both come from loving families who are excited to welcome our future child and grow through adoption. Brad has a tight-knit immediate family, which includes his parents and two younger sisters, who all live in Hawaii. His extended family is also very close and often celebrates major secular holidays together. Brad’s parents often host a “pa’ina” (a meal) with extended family once per month in their backyard. There are five other young children in Brad’s extended family, and he expects that his sisters will have children as well, who will become a close part of our child’s life as cousins. Brandon also has a tight-knit immediate family, with his mother and her partner and his maternal grandmother in southern California whom he is very close to. His father and his wife also live in Tucson, Arizona. We hope to spend holidays in both southern California and Tucson, Arizona so that our future child is also connected to Brandon’s family as well.

Final Thoughts

Thank you for considering us as potential adoptive parents. We know this is an important decision and would like you to know that we are both committed to providing a loving, supportive home for our future child.
