Anthony & Andrew

We met in NYC on our first date in the West Village in 2012 and immediately knew there was something special between us. We became best friends and quickly integrated ourselves, families, and friends into each other’s lives. We are close with both sides of our family. Anthony’s parents, three siblings, their families, and a large extended family live in Minnesota. Andrew’s mother, two siblings, and their families live in nearby Philadelphia and Boston.

From the beginning of our relationship over 13 years ago, we talked about our mutual desire to become parents. To prepare a home to raise a child, we settled down in a diverse and welcoming community in the suburbs of New Jersey, less than an hour outside of NYC. We are now at a place in our lives where we can provide a stable and loving home and are ready to share our life and love with a child. We’ve chosen the path of adoption because we believe in the bonds of chosen family, and we have unconditional love to give to a child regardless of genetic relationship. We look forward to passing down the lessons and legacies of our families to the next generation.

Fun Fact: Andrew enjoys learning to cook cuisine from around the world. He continues to build his repertoire of spices, herbs, and culinary equipment. His favorite dishes are authentic Chinese cuisine.

Our Lives

We are an affectionate and fun-loving couple who genuinely enjoy each other’s company. Our favorite thing to do is to make each other laugh. Our favorite evenings are often spent at home watching our favorite series on Netflix and eating home-cooked meals. Andrew loves trying new recipes and hosting family and friends for dinners, and Anthony loves planning travel and date nights. On weekends, you can often find Andrew cooking and working out at the gym, and Anthony working on the landscaping and playing or watching tennis. Since we are close to NYC, we often take day trips into the city to see friends (many with children of their own), Broadway plays and musical theater productions, and museum exhibitions. We also love to travel to hike awe-inspiring nature destinations locally and around the world several times a year. We love to explore new places and experience different cultures.

Our Family

We both come from close-knit families, where parents, siblings, and extended relatives created a loving, supportive foundation. Andrew’s family lives in Boston and Philadelphia, while Anthony’s family lives in Minnesota. We see each other in person throughout the year for get-togethers, celebrations, and holidays. One of our favorite summer traditions is to travel to Minnesota to visit the family lake cabin or the Minnesota State Fair.

Our close group of friends also makes up our extended family, and they live nearby in New Jersey and New York. Their children, several of whom we are godparents to, will be an important part of our future child’s life through visits, playdates, holiday traditions, and shared celebrations. Our nieces, nephews, and godchildren range in age from infants to teenagers, and we look forward to trips to parks, zoos, museums, and Disney together.

Final Thoughts

Family and community mean so much to us. We are excited to grow our own family with openness and love, and we are so grateful that you are potentially considering us and our family in this adoption journey. Our lives are full of warmth, affection, and humor, and we can’t wait to share that with a child.
