Hello, we are Sophia and David—thank you for taking the time to get to know us! We met and fell in love in Miami and recently celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. Today, we live happily in Brooklyn, New York, with our three-year-old son, Sky. What makes our family special is our cultural diversity: David is Cuban American, and Sophia was born in India, immigrating to the U.S. when she was nine years old. Our lives are a celebration of our unique backgrounds and shared values — we would not have it any other way.
Our home is filled with laughter, learning, and joy—one that we are excited to share with another child. We believe that family is built on love, and that it can take many beautiful forms. Adoption is a journey we have always felt called to, and we are honored to walk this path with someone as brave and loving as you. We can only imagine how difficult this decision must be, and we deeply respect the strength it takes to consider adoption. If you choose us, we promise to give your child unconditional love, support, and care. We will honor their story, celebrate their heritage, and nurture everything that makes them special.
About David

Job Description: Software Engineering Executive
Hobbies: When he’s not roughhousing with Sky or going on adventures with Sophia, David loves learning about outer space, bees, and whales.
Fun Fact: David is the foundation of our family—a calm, steady, and deeply caring father. As the oldest son of his immigrant family, he inherited a strong work ethic and was the first in his family to go to a four-year college, where he studied electrical engineering. While he’s often quiet in a crowd, he’s the biggest goofball at home. One of the things Sophia loves most about David is how he always brings humor and light into our lives.
About Sophia

Job Description: Education Non-Profit Executive
Hobbies: Sophia loves reading (especially to Sky every night!), gardening, and running.
Fun Fact: Sophia is the mastermind behind our family’s experiences, which most recently included a month-long trip to Portugal! As the oldest daughter of her immigrant family, Sophia worked multiple jobs through college and now leads initiatives that help all students succeed. Her mother instilled in her a lifelong love of learning, and David admires how Sophia’s curiosity makes life exciting and full of possibilities.
About Sky

Job Description: Full-time Explorer
Hobbies: Sky loves riding the subway, eating in cafes all around the world, and playing with his favorite cat, KitKat.
Fun Fact: Sky is a fun-loving, thoughtful three-year-old. Like his Mama, he’s adventurous and always up for an outing, and like his Dada, he’s silly and playful once he feels comfortable. Sky started a Montessori school in the fall, where he’s learning new skills (including French!) every day.
Our Lives
Brooklyn has been our home for 15 years, and we’re proud to live in a diverse community where families from all backgrounds come together.
Our two-story house—with a rare backyard!—is our center of fun; from gathering in our sunlit living room, to splashing in the inflatable pool and hanging by the hammock, we enjoy hosting and spending quality time with friends and family. We also frequent the many local parks and museums throughout New York City.
Food is also a big part of how we show love, and Sunday family dinners are sacred in our home. Our favorite Mexican spot is just around the corner, and we love trying new restaurants and cuisines with Sky.
We value travel and exposing our children to the world—every December, we explore a new place together. So far, Sky has been to Miami, Puerto Rico, and Portugal; and he celebrated his second birthday on a cruise to the Dominican Republic.
Our Family
While our immediate families live in Florida, we’ve built a strong, loving community here in New York. Monthly game nights at our house are filled with laughter, and Sky’s honorary aunts and uncles are excited to welcome and embrace another child in our circle.
We’re very close with Sophia’s family and FaceTime with her parents and brother every few days. Sophia’s mom considers being a grandmother her full-time job and visits us regularly, showering Sky (and future children) with love and attention. Our families are incredibly supportive of our adoption journey and can’t wait to welcome a new member into the family.
Final Thoughts
We believe that the universe unfolds as it should, and we trust that the right person will choose us at the right time. We admire your courage and strength, and no matter what decision you make, we wish you and your child a life filled with joy and love. Thank you for considering us as potential parents for your child.
