Hi! We’re Michael and Vicente, and we’ve been together for 16 years, married for 8. We dreamed of becoming parents from the start of our relationship, and in 2024 that dream came true when we welcomed our son, Michael Jr., through adoption. Becoming his dads has been the greatest joy of our lives, and going through the adoption process ourselves gave us a deep, firsthand love for the openness and care it’s built on. We hope to grow our family and give Michael Jr. a sibling of his own.
Today, we own our home in the suburbs of New Jersey, where little Michael keeps us joyfully busy alongside our Yorkie, Sophie. We both have established corporate careers; Vicente has been with the same company for 22 years. Family is a large part of our daily lives. Vicente is 1 of 7 siblings, Michael is 1 of 5 siblings, and we have 17 nieces and nephews, not all biological. Family for us is about love, respect, being present during good and bad times, and most importantly supporting each other. We are incredibly fortunate to have families that genuinely love and support us, our son, and our life goals.

Our Lives
As Michael Jr. wakes up, the first thing he likes to do is pick out a few books to read, play with his magnets, and choose his outfit for the day. Then we head downstairs, where he picks out a Tonies story, usually the Cow, Ms. Rachel, or Cars. Our mornings are slow and happy, with coffee on the deck while Michael points out the birds, squirrels, and chipmunks in our backyard. From spring through fall, we are outside as much as we can be, gardening, splashing in the pool, and taking Sophie on afternoon walks together as a family.
Evenings usually mean a dinner that Vicente cooks out on the deck, music in the background, and a movie, a wildlife special, or a puzzle. Weekends are for family and friends, making memories and exploring new places together.
When we travel, we love the beach, trying new restaurants, and learning about different cultures through food, art, and music. These are the adventures we can’t wait to keep sharing with our children.
Our Family
Collectively, we have a large immediate family spanning multiple generations, from grandparents down to our youngest niece. Our son, Michael Jr., is deeply loved by every member of it and adored by all of his cousins. We also have a close circle of friends we consider family.
Our traditions are built around celebrating life’s moments, from birthdays, anniversaries, and graduations to the holidays we love most: the start of summer on Memorial Day, the July 4th BBQ, an extravagant Thanksgiving and Christmas, and ringing in the New Year at home. With a family this big there is always something to celebrate, and our gatherings often revolve around making and sharing traditional Mexican food, a tradition we are so excited to pass on to Michael Jr. and his future sibling.
Final Thoughts
We cannot imagine how difficult this decision is for you, and we truly appreciate you considering us. What we can promise is that our son or daughter will be loved in abundance, protected, welcomed by a big brother and a large, loving family, and given our very best so they have every opportunity life has to offer.
