Seth & Rosalind

Ever since we got married five years ago, we have known that we wanted to make a home for children. We love each other deeply, and we both have the desire to extend this love and welcome children into our family. Our home is a place of laughter and music, creativity, good food and lots of love, and we can’t wait to share all of this with our future child. Many of our friends have young children, and they often come over to share a meal, play games or do crafts at our place. Our child will be surrounded by a loving family, plenty of activity and fun, and a nurturing, supportive environment in which they can thrive and grow. Seth can’t wait to hone his legendary story-telling skills, and Rosalind is looking forward to making every occasion, holiday and milestone special. We are excited to be growing our family through adoption, and know that our child will be loved unconditionally and welcomed into a wide circle of friends and family.

Our Lives

We live in a beautiful rural neighborhood just an hour from Manhattan, in the Hudson Valley. Our child will have access to many resources – outdoor play areas and parks, libraries, play groups, and other families with young children who live nearby, who they can interact with. Time together as a family is very important to us, already now, and we plan to keep this a priority with our children as well. We begin every day with breakfast together, and sit down for a family meal in the evenings. We are looking forward to spending quality time together with our children – day trips, cultural experiences, camp-outs and celebrations – providing them with a strong sense of family and belonging, as well as giving them a wealth of experiences and memories to draw on later in life.

Our Family

Our extended family are all looking forward to this addition to our family. Rosalind grew up in a family of seven children, with a large extended family of uncles, aunts and cousins, and two nieces so far (with definite plans for more! 3 of her siblings got married in the past couple of years.) Seth has two siblings and five nieces, one of whom is adopted. Seth’s parents live within walking distance of us, and a number of Rosalind’s family are within an hour’s drive, so we see each other often. Family gatherings are always lively, vibrant occasions, and the “niblings” can’t wait to meet their new cousin!

We love celebrating! Our family has many traditions surrounding holidays, Christmas and birthdays, some of which go back generations and some that are more recent additions. We are looking forward to incorporating new traditions that celebrate the culture and heritage of our child, and the gift of adoption.

Final Thoughts

We’d like to express our thanks to you as the birth parent for the thought and care you are putting in to your child’s future, and would be honored to be considered as part of your adoption plan. We promise to provide for your child a happy, loving and secure home and to nurture and support them in every way. We hope and believe that this will be an ongoing gift to our family, to you, and most importantly to this child. Thank you.
