At Spence-Chapin, we are committed to providing the maximum financial assistance allowed by state law to help you with pregnancy–related living expenses. This may include support for rent, utilities, groceries, transportation, maternity clothes, and more. Our services will always be 100% free and require no guarantees from you.
It can be difficult to think through your options clearly with a newborn at home. If you have recently given birth and would like some breathing space from parenting while you consider your options, our Interim Care Program offers trained volunteers who can take care of your baby in their home, providing loving care 24/7 while you work with a Spence-Chapin social worker.
Considering your options or making an adoption plan does not mean you are “giving up” your baby. It means that you are making a brave, compassionate decision about the future for you and your baby. That’s why our adoption process is birth-parent led, which means that you choose the type of adoption plan, you choose the family, you are provided with an independent lawyer for free legal services, and your rights as a birth parent are always respected.
