This past year, Spence-Chapin has hosted roundtable discussions in various regions across New York to spotlight organizations that support women and families. Each discussion has been different, as they reflect the unique needs of the women in each community, and the expertise of the thought leaders at each table.
In honor of Women’s History Month, we are thrilled to collaborate with the YWCA of Ulster County to host our next conversation in Kingston, NY on Tuesday, March 21st at 12PM. This discussion will be an opportunity to connect with likeminded organizations, pool resources, and work collectively toward more positive outcomes for women in the Kingston area. This starts with ensuring the women we all support through our work are informed, empowered, and provided with the tools they need to have ownership over their physical and mental well-being.
Discussion points will include resources needed for vulnerable mothers and children, the community’s relationship with the child welfare system, current pregnancy and parenting options available to individuals facing an unintentional pregnancy, and myths around private adoption vs. foster care. Leadership from Ulster County YWCA, Maternal Infant Services Network, Mid-Hudson Chocolate Milk, Healthy Families Ulster County, Planned Parenthood Greater New York, Kingston High School, HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley, and others will be joining us at the table!
