Creating a Healthy Workplace Culture
A Continuing Education Webinar Offered by Spence-Chapin in Collaboration with Rutgers School of Social Work

  •  September 23, 2026
     1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The culture of a workplace impacts the success of the organization’s mission and the wellbeing of its employees and clients. This workshop explores how everyone in an organization can help create healthier workplace environments where staff feel valued, heard, supported, and equipped to do their best work.

In this free interactive workshop participants will examine the factors that shape workplace culture, including communication patterns, power differentials, leadership practices, boundaries, inclusion, response to conflict and approaches to preventing burnout. Through reflection, discussion, and practical strategies, attendees will identify ways to strengthen trust, improve morale, support professional well-being, and promote a culture of accountability and care within their organizations.

Objectives:

  • Participants will learn how to:
  • Recognize signs of unhealthy workplace culture and their impact on staff and client well-being
  • Describe how to create psychological safety, open communication, and mutual respect
  • Use practical strategies to reduce burnout risk, strengthen peer support, and foster a more inclusive and supportive work environment.
  • Develop actionable next steps for contributing to a healthier workplace culture in their own setting.

This free workshop has been uniquely designed for social workers and professionals working in perinatal health and child welfare. Throughout the training, participants will have an opportunity to engage in meaningful conversation with colleagues in the field and be introduced to Spence-Chapin and the free services we offer to women and couples who are considering adoption or making an adoption plan for their baby.

The Office of Continuing Education at Rutgers School of Social Work is an ASWB national CE provider and will provide 3 general CE hours for social workers and professional counselors from New York, New Jersey, and Arizona.

This event is not yet open for registration.
